+1,000 AFretired2002 On the flapside (pun intended) it's a cool thing, but I actually enjoy, and do a better job, making my own pancakes at home - even if it isn't "free". $2.40 for a cup of plain coffee? If you went ahead and paid that then you voluntarily got burned. (no pun intended) IHOPs used to be good. Not so much anymore.

My husband and I decided to go to this! Its was...ok. Our waitress was a bit abrupt, I think she was overly-busy and feeling harassed, poor girl. We left her a good tip because we figured no one was tipping once they finished their free pancakes and waters. We ended up ordering breakfast and coffee with the pancakes anyways and with our donation it came out to about $20. Not really free, but it was a change in our usual morning routine. By the way, did you know they charge 2.40 for a cup of coffee?! Thats price gouging! Typically coffee in most small restaurants like Jims or mom and pop places is a $1.50.

In response to AFretired2002. I apologize for not spelling it out for you more succinctly, BONEHEAD! I was simply illuminating the reasons for not eating the free pancakes at IHOP. However, I would bet that there are many GENUINELY charitable individuals working at the welfare office keeping it spotlessly clean. This would be in contrast to the very wealthy IHOP owner advertising his operation through his superficial commitment to "charity", and not being "charitable" enough to provide his customers with sanitary food prepared in a sanitary environment. There... Bakacha AFretired2002. Gimme your best comback, BONEHEAD!

I wouldn't go for free pancakes but in response to metalya, if you don't like the pay or hours it is very simple, DON'T WORK THERE!!!! I also would bet you that you will find more roaches and dirt at the welfare office than at an IHOP

that's the thing about san antonians...can't get them to get off their lazy azzes to get their animals spay/neutered FOR FREE, but offer them a free taco or food and their fat azzes are up at the crack azz of dawn standing in line...pathetic. i bet if the humane society offered up a free friggin' taco with every spay/neuter, these sorry fks would be gathering up every stray in the neighborhood to get as many as they could. offer them free beer and you can't lose! Losers...

The IHOP owner refuses to pay his people a decent wage. He refuses to provide his people with reasonable schedules so that they can properly sanitize his stores. His stores are gross. You are likely to find human hair in your food and you are likely to see cockroaches crawling in the stores as well.
