SAN ANTONIO -- Many people may want to deep fry their turkey this year. If you're one of them, firefighters have some tips to keep you and your family safe.
  • Thaw the turkey
  • Keep the oil below 350 degrees
  • Don't overfill the oil. If you have too much oil in the fryer, when you add the turkey, it may cause oil to drip down the sides. That can start a fire.
Firefighters also say do not use water to try and put out a grease fire.

wouldn't a "How To" video be a better way of getting the message across.

There will be at LEAST one dbag who will burn his home, his pet or himself on Thursday. If you aren't sure how to deep fry a turkey, then why do it?
