Treating diabetes is more expensive than ever before.
That's according to the American Diabetes Association which says the cost of diabetes in the U.S. has skyrocketed the last five years. The cost rose to 245 billion dollars in 2012, 41 percent higher than back in 2007.
The association says the jump is not because medicine and treatment is getting more expensive, rather its because so many people have the disease.
More than 22 million people have type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
