SAN ANTONIO - A thousand teachers must be hired by June. Certainly welcome news after a series of layoffs. However, this is only for teachers interested in going overseas.
A Canadian based company called Teach Away is recruiting teachers to work anywhere from England to Abu Dhabi.
News 4 WOAI is told that a 23-year-teaching veteran from Natalia has already been accepted in the 2-year program.
The company says nearly 650 Texas teachers have applied; 300 this month alone. Pay ranges from $50,000 to $70,000, but keep in mind that some countries have a much higher cost of living.
