SAN ANTONIO - The IRS started its "Free File" tax service on Tuesday. Free File is a service that offers free federal tax preparation and E-file options for all taxpayers. It's available 24 hours, seven days a week, and taxpayers can get their refunds in as little as 10 days by using E-file and selecting direct deposit.
The IRS provides Free File fillable tax forms, an electronic version of IRS paper forms. For more information and links to participating tax preparers, go to

You have until April 17, 2012 to file and pay taxes or request an extension.
