SAN ANTONIO -- A quiet Southwest Side neighborhood is not going to stay quiet about increasing crime anymore. Neighbors in the Jamar Village area off General McMullen near Port San Antonio say they're tired of almost weekly car and home break-ins.
Yvonne Hernandez was burglarized last month and the crooks got away with electronics, jewelry and cash.
"You feel hurt but after that you feel angry. You want these people caught," she said.
She and neighbor Oscar Lopez are launching a Neighborhood Watch program to cut down on crime. Police say it can be an effective tool to keep crooks out.
