SAN ANTONIO - It turns out the customer is not always right. That's the idea behind a new website aimed at warning businesses about bad customers. Think of it as the Better Business Bureau for businesses. It's called Business Beware, an online forum for businesses to warn of customers who always want something for nothing or don't pay their bills.

"Cust-o-monsters, as we affectionately call them, are people that literally go from business to business to business, and they are never satisfied. They are always wanting something free, which actually costs the consumer in the long run because the good consumers have to pay for the cust-o-monsters,” explains Robert Bodi from Business Beware.

Once a member of the website, the businesses can send a warning letter to customers who are slow to pay their bills without having to pay a collection agency. The letter warns them if they don't pay, their name will go up on the website.

Lervia, glad you like it! It is unreal how people act and what they say to employees/business owners. Consumers have numerous outlets to voice about bad businesses and we are the business owners voice. Most use the site to collect money that's owed to them rather than post a complaint. Collection agencies charge 20-50% and that can literally sink a small business, especially in this economy. We're just a way to balance the scales and as longtime business owners, we know exactly what it's like being in their everyday shoes. Twister2, it's been working for a while and almost everyone can think of a certain CustoMonster they could put on there ;)

Gotta say, I LOVE this!!! Having had to deal with customers in the past, from both the employee and owner standpoints, I can certainly relate!! But, even more so, I observe what salespeople and business owners have to deal with daily, and it isn't pretty quite frequently. (I quite often pick up messes other leave on the floor and return them to their rightful place) Turn around is fair play!! BUT, the downside of both venues (Business Beware, Restaurant & store reviews, etc.) is the "liar" or "imposter" factor. So.....who's to say whether we're better off "with" or "without"? Technology and that "progress into the future" that so many scream for can take a HUGE chunk out of your backside and ego and security. Be careful what you wish for. Before you come back and scream at me....think about it for a while. Before cyber social networks and bullying, did we have the youngsters and teens committing suicide at such an alarming rate, and all because of Cyber bullying FOR THE MOST PART? NO!!! So, with each "progressive advancement", the negatives are far to much of the total percentage, and without anybody truly able to correct the problem or do anything about it.

I have a hard time imagining this will work, but it is funny. I have someone in mind that ought to be on the website.
