WASHINGTON -- If no budget deal is reached in Washington, automatic across the board spending cuts will be made on March 1st.

Our investigative partners at the Washington Guardian have discovered that could affect Homeland Security. A memo from Homeland Security outlines possible cuts, including furloughs for 1,000 secret service members.

It may not sound like a big deal, but the Secret Service does more than just protect the president. They also handle major criminal investigations.
