If you've been to a Barnes and Noble store out of state recently, the company is advising you check your bank accounts.

The store has learned hackers have tampered with credit and debit card machines in 63 of its stores in nine states. Texas was not one of them. However, the affected stores include: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

Barnes and Noble says anything purchased on its website or with a nook device and app were not affected. If you see unauthorized transactions on your bank statements, Barnes and Noble recommends changing your PIN's or Personal Identification Numbers. Meanwhile, federal authorities are investigating the security breach.
