SAN ANTONIO - The city wants to keep you in the loop during an emergency, so they've launched a website called AlertSA.com.

Once you sign up, the Emergency Management Office sends you text messages or email alerts in the event of an emergency. Each alert is tailored to your neighborhood.

Time-sensitive messages can be delivered via...
  • Home, business, and cell phones
  • Email address
  • Text messages
  • Hearing impaired receiving devices
Standard message and data rates may apply.

AlertSA is being paid for through the 911 services charge.

jefsr- As the late John Hartford once sang, " I've heard that tearstained monologue you do there by the door before you go."

The Radio Dispatch System failed for the past eeek and we got more excuses from IT Director Hugh Miller…. Failure after failure after failure. Lives of citizens and responders are put at risk every time……. IT Director Hugh Miller, McManus, city attorney Bernard, Sculley, Castro, etc. work at hiding three decades of theft/fraud inside the IT Department and an ongoing criminal conspiracy to hide the crimes so citizens/responders will never learn the truth about the sad state of our City’s E911, Radio, CAD systems. ……. Seconds count during times of crisis! How many people must die or be seriously injured before the WOAI reports the facts? ………… Follow the money ! ………………………………………http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9VL1nPBeak http://www.sanantoniolightning.com/enemy10.html....................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wVcy82mt7A...................................... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LbPQNVotVA.................................

I have tried to register for this Alert SA system and even though my house has been in the same place for about 12 years it can't seem to find my location on their map, therefore it will not let me register. Pretty sad when the emergency management map can't find you....hopefully I don't ever have a real emergency and need someone to come to my non existent street. It's amazing that google can find me, but San Antonio Emergency Operations cannot....

that's awesome! so now not only will transguide inform me of Silver Alerts in El Paso while I'm navigating traffic on 410, but now I get it on social media too!!! Awesome! and I can't wait until some deadbeat dad takes his kid on an unauthorized ice cream run and it's an Amber Alert TOO! maybe i'll be at 1604 and 281 too, when I need that kind of info the most!!
