WASHINGTON -- Ted Cruz will be taking over Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison's senate seat after she decided to resign at the end of this session. But Hutchison isn't sitting idly by during the so-called lame duck session.
Hutchison and Arizona Senator Jon Kyl are putting forward the Achieve Act, the Republicans' answer to the Dream Act. Like the Dream Act, the Achieve Act would provide some people in this country illegally a path to citizenship, but it would not guarantee it.
Some argue a different option isn't needed. Senator Hutchison, herself, supported the Dream Act.
