SAN ANTONIO -- A woman who pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting her friend's 4-year-old daughter was sentenced today to 10 years in prison.
Amanda Michelle Rodriguez, 27, was arrested back in November 2011. Officials say if Rodriguez had not taken the lesser molestation charge, she could have faced up to 25 years to life if convicted.
Authorities say the 4-year-old made the accusation after Rodriguez allegedly threatened to lock her in a closet if she didn't submit to the sexual assault. Despite entering the "no contest" plea, Rodriguez said she's innocent and took the plea, so she could see her own 5-year-old daughter.
