AT&T announced Tuesday it is buying Alltel's U.S. wireless operations for $780 million dollars.
The agreement includes Alltel's wireless properties such as licenses, network assets, retail stores, and almost 600,000 subscribers. If approved by federal regulators AT&T will pick of assets and subscribers left-over in a Verizon-Alltel deal almost four years ago.
No word yet on how the sale would impact current AT&T and Alltel customers.
