An 85-year old man shoots and kills himself inside a downtown doctor's office.
Police responded to the shooting off Camden and Lexington Avenue just after 2 pm. They say the man was inside one of the patient rooms on the 5th floor when he pulled the trigger. We spoke with one woman who was inside the doctor's office when the gun went off.
"I'm standing right by his door. When the man did it, I'm right beside Dr. Rodriguez's door on the phone. Like I said, I jumped cause it scared me. And I said, no that wasn't gun shot. But then I smelled it. I smelled gun smoke. I smelled it,” Shekeyah Yehuda said
No one else inside the building was hurt or threatened. Police are investigating why the man shot himself.
