SAN ANTONIO - Fifteen seniors graduating from San Antonio Independent School District high schools on Thursday received $1,500 scholarships from C.H. Guenther & Son, Inc.
The students were awarded the money at a luncheon at the company's corporate headquarters on Broadway.
C.H. Guenther began the scholarship program in 2001 and has extended it through 2015.
It requires that the students maintain a "B" average, have a 90 percent attendance record and participate in school, extracurricular and community activities.
The scholarship recipients also wrote a one-page essay about why a college education is important.
