New Voter Registration Cards

New voter registration cards began going out in the mail Wednesday, April 25th.

Of the 800,000 going out, about 343,000 voters will find out they're in new precincts because of redistricting. The redistricting created dozens of new precincts in Bexar County, meaning some voters will learn they'll have to vote at new locations.

You won't need the new card until the party primary elections on May 29th. For the upcoming city election on May 12th, you can use your old card or even just your drivers license. Early voting for that city bond election begins Monday, April 30th.

Who can vote:

To register to vote in Texas, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen;
  • Be a resident of the county;
  • Be at least 17 years and 10 months old (You must be 18 years old by Election Day.)
  • Not be a convicted felon (unless your sentence is completed, including any probation and parole); and
  • Not be declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law.

@Carmelos thx for the heads up I figured as much. Those greedy idiots down at city hall had to place this public arts rider on all of them in hopes that at least one or two would pass. Well I have a clear message to send come tomorrow when I vote NO on all of them. I will also be urging everyone I know to do the same. I'm driving on crappy roads and avoiding flood zones and shopping the discount brands to save money and you clowns downtown want to spend money on public art! Well you're little art rider just soured the whole deal. Get back to living within our projected budget and fix our damn roads and drainage.

@Scandals the 1% public art rider is for the city government to waste on beautification of the downtown area, statues, fountains, etc. Think of howe mny roads little Henry could rename with that kind of loot at his disposal! Vote NO! I did.

okay I would like someone to answer a simple question for me please. What in the hell is this 1% public art rider that seems to be at the end of each of these proposed bond categories? If it is what I think it is which is pork then I will be voting the whole damn mess down as a big fat NO. Luigi regardless of opinions the simple fact is that this is the United States Of America our laws and declarations were and are written in English so it would behove someone who is in this country to learn English just as it would make common sense were I in France to learn to speak French. It's called common sense. As for who was here first we could argue that until the cows come home it's What this Nation is called now and what the founding fathers were speaking when they founded it that matters end of debate.

I saw a list of Parks that are suppose to get help with this bond....I have never heard of some of these parks. One stuck out Thunderbird Hills Park...There is not such park and if there is or going to be, where the hell would they put it? Did they just put a bunch of names on this list to impress people?

You bunch of mono-minded morons...Spanish was spoken here long before English, and before that thousands of other indigenous languages were used, and incase any of you haven't noticed...this country IS NOT CALLED ENGLAND, fools.

Sadly, some jurisdictions are required by law to have bilingual ballots.

Isn't that special? People should be required to speak and understand English before they can vote.
