SAN ANTONIO -- Thank you to everyone who turned out for our
drive-through food drive.
Many had a special reason for donating to those who need it. And, we were touched by your personal motivations.
One man paid tribute to his now-deceased parents he cared for by giving to others. And his generosity is something he learned when he was very young from his family.
Al Zerm said, “We made it a tradition because back in the depression my grandmother, when she was very young, was helped out by the Salvation Army and so every year we try to make a gesture to give back.”
So, Al donated all the food his parents used to love to make during Thanksgiving to Food 4 SA.
If you're inspired by Al, you can still help us reach our goal of collecting one million pounds of food by the end of the month.
Drop off non-perishable food items at any
Security Service Federal Credit Union until the end of the month
