Several organizations are taking part in this year's food for S.A. Food Drive. News 4’s Leslie Bohl Jones is promoting the drive.

Workers can drop off canned goods or make financial donations and this year the need is especially great.

The food bank’s executive director Eric Cooper says, “I think when the economy is struggling as it is it creates that double-edge sword of increased need and decreased supply. So this food drive is so critical to stock our shelves so we'll be able to meet the demand this holiday season.”

Here's how you can help: Beginning the first week of November, a sack will be delivered with the San Antonio Express-News.

Just fill it up with non-perishable food and drop it off at any Security Service Federal Credit Union location during November.
