SAN ANTONIO – The city’s water utility says the six-month-old water restrictions have now ended. This comes after rains pushed the Edwards Aquifer’s level over 660 feet for 30 days.
However, it’s not full taps ahead.
"After six months and one of the hottest summers ever, we are finally out of drought restrictions - but keep in mind that year-round restrictions do apply," said Karen Guz, San Antonio Water System Conservation Director.
Those
year-round restrictions include allowing water to run off into a gutter, ditch, or drain or failing to repair a controllable leak. All these are considered water waste, which is prohibited at all times.
Landscape watering with an irrigation system or sprinkler is permitted any day of the week, before 10 a.m. or after 8 p.m.
SAWS serves over one million customers in the San Antonio area.
