AUSTIN (AP) — Lake Travis is continuing its slow comeback from the drought, thanks to heavy rains in Central Texas.

The lake near Austin had been near its record low-level this summer due to two years of brutal drought, but the Lower Colorado River Authority predicts it'll go up 8 feet just from Wednesday night's rainfall.

The lake already had risen by 4 feet.

Even with all the rainfall that's supposed to bring it to 644 feet, the popular boating and swimming spot will be 22 feet before normal. This summer the lake was down about 50 feet, its third-lowest level on record.
