SAN ANTONIO - As of Saturday, September 29, a cool 12-mile stretch of the San Antonio River will be open for paddling.

Yes, paddling. As in canoeing and kayaking. It's the state's newest Paddling Trail, as a matter of fact.

The San Antonio River Authority is going to open it to 7-day a week paddling with a special event Saturday morning - WEATHER PERMITTING.

News 4 WOAI's Randy Beamer took his camera onto the river to show you what paddlers will be able to experience and why this trail isn't for wimps. Click here to watch...

Check out the story and check out the links for more information.

Special thanks to Matthew, Gloria and everyone at the San Antonio River Authority.

hey lady fingers, stick to your other rivers!!! and when you have company come in from out of town take them to those rivers and stay away from our riverwalk!! BTW a river is a river, a stream is a stream, and an oceans an ocean!!! it has nothing to do with the people...OH, and a trailer is a trailer!!

Why can't that river ever look nice? Water should be clear not brown/green opaque.

When he said you can't handle the river I thought it was because of the rapids, I guess he was talking about all the trash.
