Days after he was in the national spotlight for his speech at the Democratic National Convention, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro is now getting more national attention for a short video produced for a scholarship fundraiser.

The video is a takeoff on the iPhone commercials which have people asking questions of the phone's virtual assistant, Siri.

Castro asks his phone a series of questions with his Siri giving him some unusual answers.

It's drawn the attention of the national media because one punch line ties into the speculation after his speech that he might run for higher office someday.

The video has Castro asking that simple question: "Should I run for higher office?"

His phone's answer: "Ay Mijo! Of course you should. You were just in the national spotlight. Your mama would slap you with her chanclas for even asking such a question."

The video was actually shot days before Castro gave that speech. Here's a link to the spoof here.

The group wrote it and produced it for a scholarship fundraiser called the San Antonio Gridiron Show put on by the local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists - or SPJ.

That show drew hundreds to St. Philip's College Saturday night.

The Castro iPhone spoof was just one of several videos shown in between live skits.

Another short video starred Bexar County Judge (and former San Antonio Mayor) Nelson Wolff. It's a takeoff of a Public Service Announcement where he plays a kind of Pied Piper inviting people to join him as he walks along the new Mission Reach of the San Antonio River Walk.

In the spoof version, Wolff invites people to join him on the northern extension of the River Walk called the Museum Reach. But in this one, he attracts a motley group instead of fine upstanding citizens and he ends up being punched.

While it may be as funny as the Castro video, since there's been no speculation about Wolff and it's all about a local issue, the internet reaction hasn't been as... intense.

But you can check out the Wolff spoof here
