SAN ANTONIO -- The Jefferson Award is often called the Nobel Prize for public service. Created decades ago in Washington, D.C., it honors the best in volunteerism, self-less service to others.

News 4 WOAI is proud to present this area's Jefferson award every month. This month, the Jefferson Award goes to Rosalinda Berlanga. Rosalinda retired a few years back, but she's busier than ever.

Congratulations Mrs. Belanga. More of us need to learn from your example of public service. There are too many of us today that are eaten up with the "what's in it for me attitude" about everything. A salute to you. God Bless!
