SAN ANTONIO - I’m a music lover. Period. Not a singer – I tried. Not a keyboard player – tried that too. I am just a lover. When I finally realized I was no good at making my own music, I decided to find other ways to explore my passion. I go to local shows (even if I have to pay a cover). I buy merch and try to show my support for artists any way I possibly can.

Being involved and supporting local artists is important. So starting this very day, I will be posting "Recommended Events" each and every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! Make sure you look tomorrow – and every Thursday from here on out – for a weekend event roundup post from SATX Music, outlining ALL the events going on in SA town over the  weekend.

Thursday’s Recommended Event

SATX Music is a go-to source for anything local. Blog posts include: detailed events with links to band pages, have pictures of the flyers and even age and cover info. SATX Music also hosts their own gigs and this Thursday is the SATX Music Winter Showcase at Limelight.

The show is not genre specific, bands playing include: Bleep Attack! (a local electropop duo), Ledaswan (a local grunge rock band), Deep in the Heart (a local indie-alternative group) and SAPD (local hip-hop masters). Make sure you check out the event here or on Facebook to get door times and all the necessary info.

And as the associate editor for SATX Music, I will definitely be in attendance – probably doing a lot of dancing – so, if you see me make sure you come say hi!

Noteworthy:

Julian Gill who was on The Garage last week is also playing a show tomorrow night, check out the details here.

If you’re in a band, own a venue, are a promoter, etc. and want to be covered in a post, please email: stephanienorthcutt@woaitv.com.
