SAN ANTONIO – Funkabilly informed blues; that’s what you get with this week’s guest band in The Garage. The Hares are a collection of some of the most unique musicians the Alamo City has to offer.

“All of our friends really like it,” explained singer and piano player Harvey McLaughlin. “And that’s important because they come from the same sort of places we do. They’re very enthusiastic.”
So what’s the inspiration?
“When we started the idea of switching vocals, we were listening to a lot of The Band, a lot of Rockpile, Blasters – things like that,” said McLaughlin. “But the horns are – by far – the highlight of the show.”
So what led them to add a horns section?
“Well, why not? We feel like the whole vibe of the band has been elevated,” said McLaughlin. “We have some songs that weren’t coming together, but the second we put that brass on there, it was a whole different ballgame.”
