SAN ANTONIO - Local San Antonio band Hollywood Knockout make their television debut on The Garage and discuss their new releases, upcoming shows and who has inspired them on their road to music stardom. Click here to watch…

Band-members Luis Knockout, Steve Haynes, and Catholic Christian came together six months ago from their former respective bands to collaborate on this new venture. Listing Blink-182 and NOFX as inspirations, the gentlemen are dedicated to keeping the sound of the 90’s available to a younger generation, yet taking their vibe to a new level.

“The 90’s were great. Why not keep the punk rock sound alive? It’s everlasting… it’s not dead. Period,” said Christian.

Performing new songs in The Garage, the guys of Hollywood Knockout gave us a taste of their album “Keep it Cute” with their songs “It’s All We Have” and “Worst Hangover.”

“Worst Hangover” is a funny song about trying to wake up and regroup yourself.

“It’s about figuring out where you’re at after a fun night,” says lead singer Luis.

Starting their own record label, Wheel By Records, was their way to jump-start not only their career, but also other aspiring musicians in the San Antonio area.

“We started up by getting different local bands from San Antonio that can’t afford to go in the studio but deserve to be helped,” said Louis. “We are trying to give them a boost start and make something out of themselves.”

For Luis, the start of Hollywood Knockout wasn’t easy.

“It took a lot of dedication and a lot of practice. We always show up trying to make different things work.”

Hollywood Knockout’s album “Keep It Cute” is available at their upcoming shows.

See them live on Saturday, May 26th at The Green Casa at 8pm (1722 E. Commerce) with The Red Scare, Wreckage Squad, and more. Also appearing on June 21st at Ghost Skate Day in San Antonio.

You can find Hollywood Knockout online at their page on Facebook...
