SAN ANTONIO – This week we mellow it out a little bit in the Garage with alternative folk band 3 Legged Horse. This trio excels in songs about life, relationships and heart break. Click here to watch…

Brothers Marc and Daniel Holguin along with drummer Jon Alexander met back at John Marshall High School right here in San Antonio and have been together as a band for a little more than twelve years.

So what’s it like to be in a band with your brother?

“It’s amazing!” said Marc. “You always hear about bands coming together and breaking up, but when your family’s in the band, that doesn’t happen. You fight more than normal bands do, but you get over it because you’re related – and you move on.”

Dan starting playing bass in the seventh grade. You could say it’s a family tradition.

“My dad was a bass player, and one day I found this [the bass guitar] under his bed. I started messing around with it and he let me take it up. And that was it,” Dan explained. “I guess I blame it all on my dad.”

The Band…
  • Marc Holguin: Guitar, Vocals
  • Jon Alexander: Drums
  • Daniel Holguin: Bass, Backing Vocals
Upcoming Shows…
  • Saturday, January 28 (10pm): Josabi's (Helotes)
  • Friday, February 10 (7pm): Local Coffee

Tony Iommi diagnosed with cancer

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma.
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with lymphoma.
Fans across the world are stoked for the first Black Sabbath album in 33 years with original singer Ozzy Osbourne, but now the band is staring death right in the face. Guitarist Tony Imiommi has cancer, forcing the band to move back to London from Los Angeles, so the 63-year-old shredder can undergo treatment for lymphoma.

Iommi is a big influence for guitarists like me that like to metal it up a bit. He was one of the first players to use a technique called the “tritone“ -- known for its evil harmony and giving Sabbath their signature dark tone.

Mr. Iommi, our prayers are with you.

Post-Hardcore Coachella Reunions

In the world of post-hardcore it’s time to scream for two big reunions.

El Paso’s “At The Drive-In” is returning after an 11-year hiatus.

“¡ ATTENTION ! To whom it may concern: AT THE DRIVE-IN will be breaking their 11 year silence THIS STATION IS …NOW…OPERATIONAL,” the band announced in a Tweet.

Also back together after 14-years is Sweden’s “Refused.”

“We never did ‘The shape of punk to come’ justice back when it came out, too tangled up in petty internal bickering to really focus on the job. And suddenly there's this possibility to do it like it was intended. We wanna do it over, do it right. For the people who've kept the music alive through the years, but also for our own sakes. We feel that you deserve it and we hope the feeling is mutual. See you in the pit,” the band said in an announcement.

Both of these bands will be rocking Coachella this year. Loyal fans can’t wait.
