SAN ANTONIO - “How Will I Know” changed the 80’s. The 90’s would not be the same without her Super Bowl performance. People loved Whitney Houston, even with all of her controversy.

Whitney won over 415 awards during her career, including six Grammys. She was the only artist to chart seven consecutive number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 list.

Houston lived a glamorous life. Her cousin was Dionne Warwick and her godmother was Aretha Franklin. Her voice was amazing, and she wasn’t shy about showing her range.

Although she didn’t have a HUGE break in film, Houston’s talent spanned even further than her vocal stylings. Anyone remember Bodyguard?!

As it sits, there is still speculation around her death, but we can all say Whitney Houston impacted the music industry, and music today wouldn’t be the same without her voice.

So R.I.P. Whitney Houston, and in your own wise words “Above all this, I wish you love.”

@longhorn..Some of may not know how to write well and unless you know us, you will not understand why..I too have problems with writing..RIP Whitney Houston, your music touched my soul and I will always remember you. Whitney may have had a drug problem, but who in this world has not had demons in their lives..I too struggled with a drug addiction..Drug addiction has no boundries, it does not care if your rich and famous, if your poor, if your educated, it hurts all and we will miss you Whitney

Thinking of "classy", anybody else remember the episode of her and Bobby Browns reality show, where she got constipated and Bobby had to "dig out her doodie-bubble"? Now that's class...

Agreed Whitney was an OUTSTANDING performer. No doubt her music was instrumental in influencing so many artists. But to say her hit changed the 80s and the 90's wouldn't be the same without her superbowl performance...don't agree. There are SO many wonderful artists out there who will influence the musicians of tomorrow. Her death, while tragic is another example of a great entertainer who's life was taken over by drug abuse. The children are our future, Whitney...let's hope your mistakes teach them a lesson so they can lead the way....
