SAN ANTONIO – Take Elastica, cross them with Blondie, add dance beats and big, catchy guitar licks – then sprinkle in a little Cajun flavoring, and you have this week’s guests, Mrs Howl. The group was nice enough to stop by The Garage, play a couple songs and answer a few questions.

“Yeah - It’s Mrs. Howell from Gilligan’s Island,” explained lead singer Chelsea Dagger.
But is it?
“It’s actually not,” counters guitarist Laurel Dagger. “Mrs Howl is from Gilligan’s Island, but our band has nothing really as a tribute to Gilligan’s Island, honestly.”
So the question remains, why Mrs Howl?
“Whenever I was in Dallas there was this all-girls band named “Lovey” – and I filled in for a couple of shows with them. I became really good friends with their singer who a really big influence on me,” Laurel explained. “They named their band after Lovey Howell from Gilligan’s Island. I moved here and put together the band as a tribute to her.”
So you see -- Thurston Howell is still changing lives – if not indirectly.
Mrs Howl is having a free fan appreciation show Saturday, October 6th at Martini Ranch. There will also be a free Cajun Dinner and PBR from 8-9 pm. They will also be playing The Mix on Thursday, Oct 25th at 11pm. If you get a chance to go see these shows, make sure you ask about their love for Garth Brooks, Katy Perry and Australian accents.
