SAN ANTONIO – I don’t know about you, but it kinda seems like the music scene has gotten a little soft. I liked it when San Antonio was known as the metal capital of the world. Well, the band in the Garage this week puts the ‘metal’ back in METAL SAN ANTONIO! Jane Doe is gonna rip your face off! Click here to watch...

When singer Rose Munoz is on stage, it’s almost like therapy. You can feel the emotion.

“I love it. I just look straight into their eyes and yell at them. Let it all out. Seeing them enjoy it, helps me enjoy it just a little bit more,” explained Munoz.

Guitarist Jessica Vega has found she needs to know how to play multiple instruments in today’s music world.

“I’ve always been a guitar player, but I’ve always wanted to start a band. And it’s really hard to find female musicians,” said Vega. “So I decided to teach myself how to play drums, and I formed that band.”

But Vega’s destiny has always been guitar goddess.

“That kinda fell apart after a year, so I sat on it for awhile,” she recalled. “And then I met Rose. This has just been an experience and it’s been awesome!”

Before finding metal, bassist Alyssa Hudson dabbled in other genres.

“I’m more of a classic rocker girl. When I first came into this project I didn’t know really what our style was going to be,” said Hudson. “And then once we got our guitar player, that’s when we started writing and creating. And it totally came out metal.”

Jane Does has managed to play with some truly awesome bands like Soul Fly and OTEP

“We’re influenced by these bands,” explained drummer Xavier Gonzalez. “It was really a great experience. We were probably the most nervous we’ve ever been as a band. It was a surreal experience.”

Xavier is the only guy in this band. What’s it like to be the only dude?

“I’m close knit with the girls. It all works out. It’s pretty fun,” said Gonzalez. “We’re all a family. We’re all 25% here. We all help each other out. But if the car’s stuck, they make me push it out.”

You can watch Jane Doe in person Friday, October 19 at The Thirsty Camel as part of the “Punk vs Metal” show. Then they’ll be playing “Project Independent” at Bonds 007 Saturday, October 20. There will be a total of ten bands starting at 3pm with Jane Doe going on at 5:45pm.

BLOODF*CKERS is the band that promoted the show, and put the show together , yet they get completely blurred out of the flyer. talk about being SOFT!! Bluring their copyrighted logo could have been gone about differently , just sayin
