By Michael Botsford, Host of The Garage
SAN ANTONIO – Danceable and upbeat, Cure For The Radio is continually riding that line between pop and rock. They joined us this week in the WOAI.com Garage.
Click here to watch…“Generally, when it came down to the sound - me and brother – we’ve always collaborated throughout the years. We like to take bits of pieces from our inspirations and put it together,” explained lead vocalist Kyle Cooper.
But you have to be careful that you’re paying tribute to the bands that went before – without ripping them off.
“It’s good to have a poppy-kinda feel, but also make sure the music still sounds deep and poetic and genuine. We’re not coming from some fake place,” added Kyle’s brother Chris, who plays the drums and also adds vocals. “Lyrically, we try to be somewhat serious – but not too serious.”
If you listen to the interview, you’ll find that in Cure For The Radio peer pressure will drive you to the drums.
Wanna check them out live? Be in the basement at the Korova on August 17th. There will be free pizza!
