HDTV upgrades causing brief outages

As the tower crew ascends and descends past the auxiliary antennas, it is necessary for WOAI to take our DTV transmitter off the air several times a day for a few minutes for their safety.

And tell me again, why couldn't WOAI be prepared for this transition, when we were reminded day in and day out that we (consumer)needed to be ready (for years!!). The antenna couldn't have been "ready to go" on June 12th?? We were...

I call BS. A TV operations group shows true concern for their viewers by performing known outage work during off-peak hours (think 2am - 4am). Please explain to us, Mr Engineer, why you have to do the work during the day.

Props up to WOAI for giving fair warning... hopefully they were nice enough to keep a scrolling message on the screen during their on-air times to let people know what was going on.
