SAN ANTONIO – Most television stations across the nation are now broadcasting only a digital signal. Because of that, older, analog TV sets need a converter box to receive the new signal.
But time is running out to make the switch more affordable.
These days, more and more people are looking at ways to save money. For some, that means dropping cable or satellite service. And for people watching over-the-air TV, a converter box is a necessity.
Many know there is a government coupon to get $40 off the purchase of a converter box. But, your days to get one of those coupons are numbered. You have until the end of July to get that coupon.
To apply for the coupon, call 1-888-DTV-2009 or go to
DTV2009.gov.
Keep in mind, once you receive the coupon, you must use it within 90 days of issue and they are transferable -- meaning they can be given to others.
