We all have a dirty little secret or two. Something you would never tell anyone because you are afraid to be judged or punished. As a good Catholic girl, I recently went to confession. Although I meant to, I couldn’t bring myself to tell the truth. Instead, I said nothing. That got me to thinking about the things people hold inside them and reminded me of one of my favorite sites: postsecret.com.

If you have never been to this site, its very intriguing. It’s an art project where people mail their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.

Frank Warren founded PostSecret with the idea that completely anonymous people decorate a postcard and portray a secret that they had never previously revealed. No restrictions were (or are) made on the content of the secret; only that it must be completely truthful and must never have been spoken before.

The project has received some national news coverage, being featured weekly in Washington, D.C.'s City Paper as well as in the All-American Rejects 2005 music video Dirty Little Secret. Artwork from the site was blown up to poster size and used as the background for the shoot. Several books have been published with all the entries an instead of sending in their secrets, many people take their postcards to a bookstore and discreetly hide them between the pages of a PostSecret book.

So I wondered if anyone I knew would be willing to admit their secrets if they knew no one would know the source. I sent out an email to a few friends and coworkers and got a few responses. Maybe these will inspire you to release your hidden fantasies or guilt and confess to something yourself. If you have a secret and would like to anonymously share it with everyone email me at spinmonster@woaitv.com and I will post it for you or you can mail it to WOAI-TV care of Spinmonster. Should you be so inclined you can even post it here. All sources will remain anonymous. All that I ask is that your secret be legal and true. Happy confessing and check back with us soon to see more deep dark secrets.

I once took three mens lives, they had rifles and I thought they were going to shoot but when I came up on them, They had tied a white rag on the end of the rifle barrel. I can still hear their screams. What should I do? I can't sleep, were they trying to kill me or not? I said they raised their weapon, but now I'm not so sure. God help me.

Once, as an undergraduate at SMU, I went to a fraternity party and drank three beers. I didn't like the taste and I was immediately ashamed of myself, but I found the effect quite pleasurable. I was raised as a Baptist, so I had little trouble in denying myself that pleasure again. Part of being a Baptist is the ability to deny one's self pleasure. I have thought about that beer often since, though I have not been tempted to the point of actually drinking again. I hope I never do. I have committed other sins since, but as a Christian, I have always been forgiven.
