It's been two weeks since the last rants and raves blog. This week, I surveyed some people around the office to find out what made them smile or got under their skin. Here are a few of the things I heard (the names and faces have been omitted to protect the innocent)
Rants:
• Being ignored by your significant other because of deer hunting season. Ditto that for football season
• No 3rd season of Frisky Dingo. (Am I the only one who has never seen this?)
• Obama got elected
• “I’ve gained seven extra pounds since I started working here”
• The Longhorns lost to Texas Tech
• The Spurs have only won one game this season
• “Someone stole my mom’s trash can with the trash still in it.” Seriously people that’s low.
• Pushy emails putting down who I voted for
• “The ignorant kids at Baylor’s demonstration against Obama.”
Raves
• Fall boots and sweaters
• The Election is over
• I woke up this morning
• Obama got elected
• I love this weather
• I have a job, a healthy family, and good friends
• Vacations
• A/C D/C is coming to town!
• The movie "24 Hour Party People." This came from the same person who liked the show I’d never heard of. Either he’s on to something or crazy… You decide
• I am a free and proud American!
• The low price of gas
• The website:
www.someecards.com (I hear its not safe for work…yet they were looking at it at work. If you open it and have to add “lost my job” to rants list, remember you were warned.)
• Christmas music
And finally, when I asked one coworker what she had to rave about she said, “I’m thankful I didn’t lose my job this week.” When I asked her what made her upset she said “I didn’t lose my job this week.” (I love snarky people)
So shout out to my cooperative office-mates for your help. (Yes I know who says “shout out” anymore?)
