SAN ANTONIO - The PBR’s elite Built Ford Tough Series will “Remember the Alamo” when it returns to San Antonio, Texas for the Bass Pro Shops Chute Out on August 19-20. For two nights only the Top 40 bull riders in the world will take on the toughest bulls in the PBR for some of the best bull riding on Earth. Texas natives Colby Yates, Douglas Duncan and Pistol Robinson will be competing in San Antonio as well as former World Champions Mike Lee and Guilherme Marchi. Also anticipated at the Bass Pro Shops Chute out are reigning “Last Cowboy Standing” Luke Snyder, the dancing Ben Jones, current No. 3 in the World Standings Robson Palermo and PBR superstar J.B. Mauney, Ryan McConnel and Austin Meier.
Bull riding at the AT&T Center begins at 8:00 p.m. on Friday and at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of the 40 riders will ride on both days. Following Round 1 on Friday, the riders with the 10 highest scores will each compete with one more bull. Following Round 3 on Saturday, the riders with the 10 highest cumulative scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round, where they will each compete with one more bull. The overall event winner will be the rider with the highest combined score from all four rounds.
Fans and curious newcomers can catch all of the action live from San Antonio VERSUS on Saturday, August 20 starting at 8:00 p.m. ET, and again on Sunday, August 21, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The nationally televised BFTS makes 28 stops in 23 states. The season began at world-famous Madison Square Garden, and culminates Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas at the richest bull riding event in the world, the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. The Finals is where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the $1 million Built Ford Tough bonus.
