Whether it's back to school schedules, or just organizing time in general, here's a neat idea. The Time Tracker Mini is a fun tool to get the little ones to cooperate with the schedule you’re trying to make stick. This timer uses colors to keep track of time, in 5 minute increments up to 2 hours; great for those kiddos who can't tell time yet!
The Mini starts out green. It turns yellow when there’s 5 minutes left (or more, you can customize). Time’s up when it turns red.
Whether it’s homework for 20 minutes, chores for 15 or whatever you want to manage, it’s a useful visual reminder, especially if your child can’t tell time yet. It also has optional alarms so kiddos can hear the warnings too!
On your mark, get set, go….
Watch your kids try to “beat the clock” when they’re cleaning their room. It’s quite entertaining. Ours is a marathon session full of squeals and laughter – especially when that yellow light comes on! But, they get every last hot wheel, and my feet thank them. Recommended for ages 3 and up; $20 at www.learningresources.com.
