Discuss: Spanking a 2-year-old

In TV news, reporters sometimes have to conduct ‘Man on the Street’ interviews (we call them MOS interviews). These can either be a lot of fun or a complete pain because they involve asking random people on the street a random question, therefore rejection is bound to happen!

I dont get this, I complained to CPS about my soon to be exsister in law whipping my nieces with a belt and leaving marks, pictures were taken and she had to undergo counseling. Nothing else was done to remedy the situation, so why this stiff sentence on this mother who probably didnt even have a prior CPS file open on her? CPS really needs to shape up.

Try this, Baven, "you don't spank  [2 year old] children" so hard that grandma notices red marks on her bottom that are still there when she gets to the hospital. Or "you don't spank children" so hard that there is enough evidence for prosecutors to force a harsh plea agreement before you ever see the judge. If nothing had been done and one of the children ended up seriously hurt you would complain that CPS isn't doing their job.

"You don't spank children today. In the old days, maybe we got spanked, but there was a different quarrel. You don't spank children." What part of nanny-state liberal activist judge English don't you understand twister?

Instead of following up with MOS interviews, follow up with more details on the original story. Actually, if the media did bother to look for details, they would probably discover the judge did the right thing, and the story would no longer be interesting. Of course, we will never know, will we?
