UFC 104 re cap

Fighters and fans could not agree more against the Decision made by all three Judges last night at UFC 104 with the Main Event, Lyoto v.s Shogun. The Judges scored the bout 48-47 in favor of Machida. The three Judges had Lyoto taking the first three rounds and Rua the last two. Both fighters wanted to be accurate when choosing thier strikes and leg kicks. Machida would kick Rua and Rua would answer back in defense with his leg and body kicks. Rua also landed powerful kicks to Lyotos rib, abdomen and leg area where you could see the large bruises. Towards the 4th and 5th rounds, Lyoto seemed to be in pain due to the leg kicks Rua kept landing.

At the end of the fight, both fighters raised their hands. Bruce Buffer announced Lyoto Machida as the Winner by Unanimous Decision. The fans were dissapointed with the call made by the judges and booed Lyoto. When asked if he would rematch Rua, he said yes.

Joe Rogan stepped over to speak to Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and the crowd cheered him on knowing he had won the fight and the Belt should have been placed around his waist. He was gracious in defeat and aknowledged that he thought he had won the last three rounds of the fight. His cornerman told him he won the fight.

Shogun took the loss in a very professional manner and did not make any negative comments towards Lyoto. He was visibly upset and accepted the rematch against Lyoto.

Fighters know you must not leave the fight in the judges hands. The call could go either way.

Cain Velasquez defeated IFL's Ben Rothwell by way of Ref stoppage in 58 seconds of round 2. This fight had fans on their feet as Cain controlled the fight and took out his opponent immediatley in the second round.
