RICHMOND -- The state of Virginia may become the first state to pass legislation that will prevent citizens from being required to purchase medical insurance.

According to Michael Kranish of the Boston Globe, dozens of other states are considering similar measures. The move could set the stage for one of the greatest tests of federal power over the states since the civil rights era.

Kranish reports that Virginia's lawmakers are focused on constitutional questions and the power of states to run their own affairs. He also states that "anger about Obama's health care proposals - fueled by Republican warnings about a "government takeover of health care'' - has generated resistance in statehouses, and legislators across the country are watching Virginia's effort."

Deal with this:LOL: As poor as the ratings are for Congress in general, people seem slightly more unhappy with Republicans than Democrats — another bit of potentially good news for Obama's party. Just 30 percent approve of how Republicans in Congress are doing their jobs compared with 36 percent for Democrats. (It seems people are not as stupid as GOP thinks and are not responding that much to their lies, hate and fear tactics) Republicans still trail Democrats on the question of who should win control of Congress come November; 44 percent say Democrats, 38 percent say Republicans. And the GOP has a slight disadvantage on two issues that voters deem among the most important — the economy and health care.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Americans have come to detest Congress ever more deeply as it nears the end of a nasty fight over health care. But more than half still back President Barack Obama, a bright spot for a Democratic Party counting on its leader to help stave off expected losses in elections this fall.LOL. GOP Losers and again confirmed minority, LOL.

Another "BUSTED" republican:– Mon Mar 8, 12:26 pm ET Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- who has gone to great lengths to hype the supposed dangers of a big government takeover of American health care -- admitted over the weekend that she used to get her treatment in Canada's single-payer system. "We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada," Palin said in her first Canadian appearance since stepping down as governor of Alaska. BUSTED. It is good enough for her to cross the border and use The Canadian's system (payed by the Canadians)but not for my family when payed with my own money. LOL.

NBC like every other US media outfit is either owned or controlled by conservatives. There is no liberal control of media in US during the last several years. But liberal VS conservative is not the issue here, the problem is the failure to accept facts from fanatics. As I said, get informed.

Fear Palin, fear her!!!! You Leftys make me laugh. FOX uses the same polls as the White House does. Do you have any clue what you are talking about? WOAI is NBC. Tell me to get informed? Go copy/paste something because your actual thought process is fubar.

Get informed. This is a serious verifiable poll, not an un-scientific head count by WOAI. http://www.ap-gfkpoll.com/pdf/AP-GfK%20Poll%20March%202010%20HC%20Topline%203.9.10.pdf

Assoc Press is where WOAI gets the stories they twist around to be presented in a good light for the extremist conservative agenda they carry. That is where they live alone those stories they do not want you to know of like the one this mornig on Sarah Palin crossing the border to use free medical benefits for her and her family in Canada.

WOAI polls accurate? A Fox News propaganda channel wanabe poll accurate? LOL. No wonder you all are so lost.

Ozzmosis - 3/9/2010 7:21 PM
The 'facts' are the polls and this WOAI poll is pretty accurate with the rest of the country....75% against, 25% for. I guess we are all just stupid people.

Ozzmosis - 3/9/2010 7:14 PM
Here we go again...copy/paste. It's from the AP, it must be a fact...LOL
