An unknown amount of tax dollars melted away as FEMA melted some of the ice purchased for victims of Hurricane Ike.

Seguin is just one of the places where FEMA is staging its supply trailers for Hurricane Ike relief.

FEMA officials told News 4 that with more and more stores coming back online in Southeast Texas, there's now not enough demand for the amount of ice they had.

FEMA gave away some of the ice to area markets. But FEMA officials said it would cost more to keep it frozen that to just let it melt.
