This guy Beneby is a crook. So he paid back $5K. That's what he owed. That doesn't make him any kind of hero. He should be fired because he decided to do this in the first place. He thought it was alright to spend this money on himself until Brian Collister made this public! His judgement isn't in our best interest. He is working for himself. This guy should be thanking his lucky stars every day that he has a job. Fire him!

Research now needs to be done on all the senior citizens, war veterans and those in need of utility assistance whose freezer food was destroyed when CPS disconnected their services. Due to the economic times more time should be given so these people can take advantage of the few services available that frequently run out of funds. Mayor Castro really needs to look into this we voted you in, now help the people.

The money used to reimburse ratepayers was absolutely nothing. The reimbursement could have been put to better use if the money was used to replace freezer food, and pay on the overdue bills of all the senior citizens, war veterans and those who need utility assistance. CPS is becoming a classic example of what's known as American greed.

I bet those expensive meals don't look too appetizing now! Still, $5K is chump change.

This expenditure is nothing compared to what the executive management team at SACU (San Antonio Federal Credit Union), which includes the honoree of the CPS extravaganza who happens to be Steve Hennigan the NEW CEO of SACU. The retirement party for the outgoing SACU CEO was held at the JW Marriott which should be an indication as to the amount of money spent. I am certain this MEMBER OWNED credit union does not disclose this to their members! I wonder how many SACU board members were aware of the cost associated with this function and many others.

If this had been a regular employee driving a CPS vehicle they would have been fired. Did the City Council not just recently give one of these administrators a 20,000.00 bonus recently? The City Council should demand that administrators pay back 100% of this theft, which occurred on their watch within thirty days, or be prepared to submit your letter of resignation immediately, as in today, them go box all of your personal effects, turn in your employee identification as well as your company credit cards and keys and get a job like the rest of the working public. If the City council does not demand this then come election time we will demand your resignation, and vote you out. If Mr. Beneby is forking over 5000.00 because he was discovered with his hand in the cookie jar, my question is what do you really owe to make ammends, and what about your cohorts in crime, because this is theft.

THANK YOU MILITARY MEN AND WOMEN FOR FIGHTING FOR OUR FREEDOM. Unfortunately we have MORONS like these who have no morals, courtesy, and correct ethics AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF their privileges. $5,000.00 is not anywhere near the PAYBACK that all of these morons should give up.
