This amounts to mis-use of public funds, same as fraud and embezzlement! These people need to be fired! Why do I pay hundreds of dollars in elect bills and get my rates raised every year? Just so they can party down. Really? What happened to integrity? THERE IS NONE! Its too late to "write a check" to pay it back! This is probbaly just the tip of the iceberg. Well , when we see how the white house and the government works I guess its monkey see monkey do. These company's need a shake down and a dose of reality. Common sense & integrity has flown out the window and greed has flown in and taken over. Get rid of these people! They are liars and not to be trusted , they steal from the public funds for their own personal use and gain. A CEO that makes that much money can pay for his employees perks and parties himself. This is what happens when these guys make too much money, it goes to their head! This is an outrage! There are people in this town who cant even afford to pay their electricity, cant even afford fans! They threaten to turn off people/s electricity if they cant pay - and yet they are having a good time while people suffer? This is SERIOUSLY messed up! They should be ashamed , fined and FIRED!

It seems to me that this needs to be investigated by a Grand Jury for Misapplication of Public Funds. These people need to enjoy the luxuries of a great job, but almost a million dollars on parties is too much. And soon they will want to get another rate hike.

Our U.S. Military men and women COMMAND a war in tents that are thinner than the napkins your wipe your dirty face with at these fine restaurants. How pitiful and disgusting can you get? If you and your colleagues need luxuries like this to get good results out of a meeting, you all are not good leaders. Begin paying back some of this $$$ you ate to our paying customers until the $800,000 is down to zero. Start paying back our military men and women who's families are left here in complicated situations. According to WOAI, neither the City nor SAWS have been doing what CPS has been doing with regard to lavishing meals upon themselves and their friends. Nor are such practices tolerated in the military. As a former military member I often had arrange such dinners. None of us who served all those hours EVER expected or received free meals for our extra duty (except MRE's). It was volunteer work. That's the definition of volunteerism. However, Beneby's compliance officer has said the CPS trustees deserve these meals because they work for free. How about Mr Beneby...is HE a volunteer?

Let's get the facts straight. These practices have been going on for at least two years. CEO Beneby makes over $500K. CPS spent at least $800K of our $$ for meals over the past two years, but the Mayor is only just NOW telling Beneby to knock it off. None of the other utilities have these practices. Beneby's compliance officer lawyer who is supposed to be a watchdog was, on video, an apologist and more of a lapdog. Beneby is sorry for one thing, and one thing only: Brian and WOAI. IS THIS A GREAT CITY OR WHAT?

Call the finance department of the city of San Antonio and ask to speak to someone who can take a complaint. This department has authority and power that few know of. Mention to the complaint taker the woai troublemakers reports on the crazy meals, booze and party's paid for by taxpayers/ratepayers. And mention how it is impossible to post comments on beneby's blog, an attempt at censorship. It is easy to do and takes about 10 mins.

I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.Write or call my state and city representatives who I elected should something about these kinds of issues. If they don't do anything, and they are running for office again-THEY WILL NOT GET MY VOTE.. This is WRONG. FIRE this SOB,he is a stinkin' LIAR! Doesn't sound like the employees received the same information yesterday at their mandatory meeting - WOAI is wrong was the message - Oh, and we can do evaluations and raises because we don't have any money - how many people does $800,000 provide just a little raise!!
