SAN ANTONIO- In our last Elsa’s Angels, we told you about 10 year old Caelan Talavera from Schertz who is fighting a brain tumor. We found out Caelan’s father didn’t have health insurance and the money was running out. Caelan’s grandmother, Janet Talavera told us that aside from donations, Caelan was also in need of medical equipment to help him get around his house and out of his wheelchair. Unfortunately, Caelan’s family needed some angels to make that happen.
Cost Plus Medical Supply owner John Duncan saw the Story on News 4 and knew that he could help. “That’s right up our alley” said Duncan. So John and his trusted contractor Tony Ramirez got immediately got to work to help Caelen get his mobility back. Through their hard work and the medical equipment they provided, they transformed Caelan’s house, and made his life much easier.
They provided a shower seat with handles, sturdy bars to him extra support, and railing to help him get from his bedroom to the living room. John and his team also installed the same equipment in Caelan’s dad’s bathroom so Caelan can use the entire house at any time.
Caelan’s favorite gifts were two types of walkers that will help him move around while he regains his strength. In fact, he and his dad could not stop smiling while they took them for a test drive, and enjoyed Caelan’s new found mobility.
A big thanks to Cost Plus Medical Supply for coming through for the Talavera family.
