San Antonio-born native Leslie Bohl Jones is co-anchor for News 4 Today.
Jones cultivated her love of journalism at the University Of Texas at Austin where she received degrees in Journalism and Government. She began her professional career in Lubbock, Texas as a general assignment reporter at KAMC-TC. Before leaving the West Texas town, she moved to the CBS affiliate KLBK-TV. There, she entered management as assistant news director and intern coordinator. Jones also produced newscasts and worked her way to anchor desk and the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
From Texas, Jones headed east to Southwest Florida and the NBC-affiliate WBBH-TV. She anchored the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts and at different times served as the station's consumer reporter and business reporter.
Jones followed her husband's career and relocated to the Alamo City. She left broadcasting to become a full-time mother to a young baby until joining the News 4 WOAI team.
Highlights of her career include covering the 1996 Centennial Olympics, Hurricane Andrew, and traveling to Germany for a series of special reports.
She enjoys spending her time away from the station with her native-Texan husband and two daughters. They chose to return to San Antonio to be closer to family and friends.
