While preparing for a career in law, the California native was bitten by the news bug after a newsroom job in the San Francisco Bay area. She worked at several stations in Los Angeles before she jumped in front of a camera for a cable station in Orange County. Her last stop was Abilene, Texas, where she anchored and reported for KTXS, and occasionally for Telemundo. She has been recognized by the Texas Associated Press for her work.
Janet graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Political Science, Mass Communications, and Spanish. Growing up, she lived all over the world, from Seoul to Madrid. She is fluent in three languages.
When she’s not on the job, Janet is usually whipping up a storm in the kitchen, traveling, working out, reading up on the world or spending time with family and friends. She is also a member of the Asian American Journalists Association.
Janet loves her job because there is never a shortage of stories to tell. She says it’s a privilege to enter people's lives, often during the best or worst times, so she’d love for you to share your stories with her.
