Emmy-Nominated Elsa Ramon co-anchors with Randy Beamer at 6 and 10 p.m. weekdays. She brings a wealth of experience to the Alamo City from previous on-air positions in Dallas, Phoenix and, most recently, Los Angeles.

Elsa's always looking for the story that affects San Antonio at the street level, so she launched "Elsa's Angels." These stories spotlight the people who give selflessly, and though they'd never tell you, need a little help themselves. Click here for more...

Though she’s worked throughout the country, Elsa has strong San Antonio roots. Four generations of her family live here: her grandfather, father, and now she's looking forward to raising her daughter here, as well.

"Coming back to Texas has given my father the chance to spend invaluable time with his granddaughter," she says of her move. "San Antonio is a wonderful place to raise children. The exposure my daughter will have to our culture and our relatives is priceless."

She started in her TV career early. Her first job was as a kid reporter for a show called Kids World in Austin.

At age 11, she was a Girl Scout living there. While selling magazine subscriptions, she says she went to one house where she had a crush on a boy hoping to see him.

Instead, she met her heartthrob’s mom, who was a producer for the local NBC affiliate. Later, Ramon’s parents were called asking if she could come down to the station for an interview for one of six positions. She snagged it and her broadcast news journalism career took off.

"I am excited to be a part of such a progressive city full of art, culture, great food and entertainment," Elsa Ramon says about her new hometown. "San Antonio is constantly evolving and growing....while maintaining a friendly, neighborly attitude."

Elsa Ramon is a longstanding member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
