SAN ANTONIO -- New Year's Day is approaching, and that means it'll be time to pull your chair up to the table for a nice hot bowl of menudo.
The traditional Mexican soup includes a red chili base, lime, chopped onions, and chopped cilantro and is popular because it's believed to be good for hangovers.

News 4 WOAI viewers voted The Curve Mexican Restaurant (some still call it The Curve Drive-Inn) on Southeast Military Drive as having the best menudo in the city.
The Curve is a family-owned restaurant that’s been in San Antonio for more than 37-years.
“Thank you! We feel great!” manager Misty Robles told News 4 WOAI. “This is the first time we’ve ever won a plaque for anything, so we’re very excited, and thankful and grateful.”
But if you want menudo at The Curve, you have to come on Friday or Saturday.
“It’s the only two days that we have it,” explained Robles.
So what makes this menudo so good?
“Maria – our cook – she’s just awesome,” said Robles. “She’s been with us for over 30 years. She gets compliments on all her food – every day.”
Congratulations!
