SAN ANTONIO - Are you ready for some Christmas cheer? It's time for best of SA! This week you voted on best holiday light display in San Antonio, and the winner is the Breiten Family.

You could call him one of Santa's helpers. Sean Breiten definitely operates like one in his wood shop. He traces decorations he wants, cuts them, sands them, paints them, and then displays them in his front yard.

“It takes time, but it's really fun in the end,” explained Breiten.

Breiten's been creating Christmas decorations since he was 13 years old. He enjoys it so much he started to create things like a Ferris wheel of Santa and his elves and a nativity scene.

Just add some lights and you have a winner!

“Thank you for all the voters who voted for me,” said Breiten. “A lot of the kids that live up and down the street enjoy the decorations, especially the Ferris wheel I built this year. They’re constantly coming by and checking it out and looking at Santa’s elves. That’s mostly why I like to do it – it’s for the kids.”

Impressive! And a site to see in the Silver Oaks Subdivision of FM 1560 on the Far West Side.

Christ was born in spring, all the scholors even admit to it. Christmas this time of year is a restult of the pagan holiday. So stop whining and move on no one hear cares for it, Keep your terrorist views out of this. ps stop robbing churches.

This is all the Devil's work. These lights have nothing at all to do with celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus. They are a distraction from what Christmas is really all about. These lights are actually used to simulate the bonfires that pagans used to light on the shortest day of the year, which is December 21. Christmas is supposed to be a time that Christians worship the Lord by going to Church, praying and reading the Scriptures. When Jesus came He saved us all, or at least those who have accepted Him as their personal savior, from having to die and go to Hell. Now, we get to go on up to Heaven to be with God and Jesus when we pass on. That is what Christmas is all about, not a fat man dressed up like a communist and a bunch of twinkling lights and buying a bunch of stuff made of plastic from Wal-Mart.

Curious to know if the riverwalk lights actually go nominations or if the Express through them in to try to sell the public on them. Everyone I've talked to who has been downtown doesn't like them. Haven't been yet so I will reserve judgement.

Not to forget where Christmas REALLY comes from. A pagan holiday for the winter solstice used by the church to convert pagans. Anyway holiday lights/christmas lights it is all the same to me. Stop having a fit over nothing.

Well, Topaz, holiday lights are what I, a practicing pagan, puts up. And the best of the holiday season to you and yours. Whatever spiritual path you follow.

How about the WORST? I'd like to nominate my neighbor and his tacky display. Which looks like it belongs in a trashy trailer park.
