I started geocaching about a year and a half ago as I was shown all about it by a relative. It's basically a huge world wide treasure hunt. There are over 4 million hidden caches and over 2 million people registered who are searching for them. The main website is simply www. geocaching .com. You locate the various hidden containers (Caches) using a GPS and then log that you found it. Some have trinkets inside and such to trade. Then you put it back for the next person to find. Alot of fun and a great thing to do while you are out hiking anyway. Most are found along trails and roadways. Just google it to get a full rundown.

I hadn't heard of "geocache" either, so I googled it. Looks pretty cool. Thanks for the info. @twister, I don't think I could properly explain it, just search "geocaching". I might have to give it a try.

All of the greenways are turning out really nice for walkers and bikers. I've been all up and down the Leon Creek Greenway and it is great. There are also dozens of geocaches up and down them for people who enjoy that as well as throughout Government Canyon.

My vote is for O.P. Schnabel Park. You can spend hours in there!!! If you can drive a bit, Government Canyon is great. If you really have some time, Enchanted Rock is the best out of town hiking trip within a reasonable distance. We are a bit more adventurous, so when we go to the city parks like O.P. Schnabel or Comanche Lookout, we don't stick to the concrete paths. We prefer to just wander through the dirt trails. Takes longer, but it's great bonding time with the family as you find your way back and biggest bonus....no other people around!

Funny how when they post a question regarding food or bars everyone complains about the unhealthy topic and "typical" San Antonio gluttony. Now that we have a good family oriented, health conscious question, there is one actual response and a bunch of negativity about polls in general or the lack of answers. Take your own advice, if you don't like a topic, don't read it! I see that on every other story where people don't agree. Someone rants about not responding if you don't like something.If you are too lazy to get out and take a walk and just want to sit on a computer spreading your disdain for.....well, everything YOU don't agree with, skip the question and move on to the next topic. I'm sure there are plenty of articles you can use your not so clever catch phrases about "NObama" or "Obummer" or liberals or the need to arm yourself against a country you allegedly love but have little positive to say about. Can't there be just ONE story or poll that you DON'T chime in on. Heaven forbid!!!
